Summer Programs

Registration for our wonderful summer programs is underway.  All programs are open to teens going into grades 6-12.  You will need your library card to register for all programs whether in-person, online or by telephone.

Monday, July 8, 7-8:30pm, Fee: $7 CASH
Learn how to pedicure, decorate and care for your feet.  Everyone will get their own kit that includes: foot basin, emery board, pumice block, orangewood stick, nail polish and nail decorations.  There is a $7 kit fee to be paid in cash the night of the program. 



Monday, July 15, Wednesday, July 17, Monday, July 22, Wednesday, July 24 and Thursday, July 25, 5-6:30pm
Calling all actors!  Attend these dramatic workshops and learn the art of improvisation, hone your acting skills, perfect your deliverance of monologues and even work on a bit of writing.  Student actors will critique their videotaped performances on the last session, promoting their directing talents as well!


Tuesday, July 16, 3-4pm
Learn  how to make a braided bracelet, sure to complement any wardrobe!




 
Thursday, July 18, 7-8:15pm
Learn  how to make pretzels and stuff them with chocolate, nacho cheese or cinnamon sugar.  The flavor of the pretzels are hidden inside!


Tuesday, July 23, 3:30-4:30pm
We'll provide you with the supplies to decorate a light strand to hang in your room.  Please bring 3 "AA" size batteries.


Thursday, July 25, 7-7:45pm
Even through the bugs and worms, you'll want to dig beneath the surface of this dirt cake!




Monday, July 29, 3-4pm
Get the answers to your future with this easy to make version of the classic Magic 8 Ball.




 
Monday, July 29, 7-8pm
Design your own sun catcher using mosaic glass pieces.  Set the finished sun catcher in a sunny window sill and enjoy the colorful show.




Tuesday, July 30, 8:45-10:45pm
DThe Library will be closed to the public, but open to you!  Join us after hours where we will test your agility and enjoy some food!
You must register in person for this program.

 
Thursday, August 1, 7-8pm
We dare you to attend this disgusting program!  Learn gross facts about the body and participate in some gross activities using your five senses.  Are you up to the challenge?  Warning!: this program is not for the weak of stomach!




Tuesday, August 6, 7:30-8:30pm
Ever watch NBC's Minute to Win It and think, "I can do better than that"?  Come down to the Library and challenge your friends, have a great time and prove once and for all that you can do better than the person on TV!



Wednesday, August 7, 7-8:30pm
Join us for a beginner watercolor class where you will learn how to capture a turtle beneath the sea.  You will complete a project to take home.  This program involves materials that could get on clothing so please dress appropriately.

 

Thursday, August 8, 7-8pm
Just as much is going on beneath your feet as is going on above ground.  Learn about and meet some of the animals that live under the leaf litter, in holes and burrows, and beneath rocks and logs.
