Registration for Summer Programs @ EIPL starts today!


Each teen that attends a summer program will receive a lottery ticket for the chance to win some great prizes.  There is no limit to how many tickets, or prizes, you can win!




Vibrobots   EIY770         
Entering grades 6-12
Monday, July 13, 7-8pm
What can you make out of a cup, pens, a vibrating motor and a bit of cleverness?  Your own artistic vibrobot!  Learn about circuits, build your own robot and use it to produce a piece of robot art.

Tuesday, July 14, 7-8pm
Work with fondant to create superhero themed cupcakes.  Each teen will take home three fully decorated cupcakes.

Acting Workshop   EIY718

Calling all actors!  Attend these dramatic workshops to learn the art of improvisation, hone your acting skills, perfect your monologue delivery, and even share your ability to write.  Student actors will critique their videotaped performances on the last session, promoting their directing talents as well!  This program is sponsored by the Bohlsen Foundation. 
Please note: videotaped performances are posted to the library's YouTube channel.  If you do not wish for your child to be included in this footage, please sign a waiver at the Reference Desk.

Learn how to create a braided wish bracelet with bead accents.  Make a wish when fastening then as the bracelet wears, the beads fall out and your wish comes true!

Learn how to pedicure, decorate and care for your feet. Everyone will get their own pedicure kit that includes: foot basin, emery board, pumice block, orangewood stick, nail polish and nail decorations. Please note: there is a $5 kit fee to be pain in cash when you register for the program at the Reference Desk.



Watercolor Workshop   EIY736

Thursday, July 30, 7-8:30pm
Come to the Library for a beginner watercolor class where, using painter's tape, you will paint your own birch tree design. You will complete a project to take home.  This program involves materials that could get on clothing so please dress appropriately. This program is sponsored by the John A. Rodger, Jr. Foundation in conjunction with the Arts Council of the East Islip Public Library.

All ages are invited to attend programs and events throughout the library.  There will be prizes, raffles, crafts, a short film-festival, debates, snacks, photo booth, costume contest and more!  We'll even have a visit from the 501st Legion's Empire City Garrison!  Though there is no registration necessary for the day, there are several programs for which you must register starting July 1st:
