2014 Doodle 4 Google Competition:

 Draw your own doodle about "If I Could Invent One Thing to Make the World a Better Place..."

The goal of Doodle 4 Google is to give students a blank canvas but to spark their curiosity with a broad theme. Google tries for something that encourages exploration to the past, present or future as well as showing moments or thoughts that range from very small and personal to broad and far reaching - maybe even out of this universe.

This contest is open to students grades K-12 and broken down into different class groups: K-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 & 10-12.

Original submissions, based on the theme, will be judged by the following criteria:

• Artistic merit: based on grade group and artistic skill
• Creativity: based on the representation of the theme and use of the Google logo
• Theme communication: how well the theme is expressed
• Appropriateness of the supporting statement.

Prizes Awarded:

One National Winner will have his/her doodle featured on the US Google homepages and be awarded:

• A $30,000 college scholarship
• A trip to Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony
• A Google Chromebook computer
• An Android tablet
• A t-shirt printed with their doodle

Four National Finalists will win:

• A $5,000 college scholarship
• A trip to Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony
• An Android tablet
• A t-shirt printed with their doodle

Fifty State Winners will win:

• A trip to Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony
• An Android tablet
• A t-shirt printed with their doodle

Two Hundred Fifty State Finalists will receive an official winner's certificate and their doodles will be featured on the Doodle 4 Google website.
